Conditions for English language teachers

Accommodation and conditions:

1. An apartment or single room.
2. On campus or 3 minutes on-foot off campus depends on the room available situation.
3. 24-hour hot shower and private bathroom
4. Satellite TV and air-conditioned rooms
5. Community washing machine available
6. Each apartment has a kitchen
7. 24-hour on-line computers available for teachers to look up teaching materials
8. Community refrigerator available

Food:

1. Breakfast: you can make it by your own or buy local food such as dumpling, famous Guilin noodles, steamed bread, cake, etc. You have a wide range of choices. Chinese breakfast normally cost you 2-4 Yuan. You can also order western food in the western cafes or restaurants on the West Street, which is 7 minutes away from school on-foot.

2. Lunch & supper: You can have it at Omeida canteen, which will cost 5 Yuan each meal with many dishes (Teacher only needs to pay 3 Yuan because Omeida covers 2 Yuan). Your students will also eat there.

Salary:

Monthly 3000RMB+400RMB teaching bonus+other bonuses

Working hours:

1. 20 lessons a week; each lesson is 45 minutes
2. Work from Monday to Friday; Weekends off
3. The work shifts are: 8:45-10:25; 10:40-12:20; 15:00-16:40

You are expect to work for 2 shifts a day.

Class:

1. Small class with 8-12 students. Max. number is 12.

2. Students are divided to different classes according to their English levels. 5 levels available at Omeida from Basic to Advanced.

3. Textbooks and teaching materials and facilities are available.

4. Students come here mainly to improve their speaking and communication skills.

5. Most students are adults age from 20-35 who need to use their English for business purpose. Some want to study abroad. They are eager to learn.

Holidays:

1. We have 3 holidays in a year which are: A. May holidays, normally from May 1 to May 7; B. China National Day holiday from Oct. 1 to Oct. 7; C. Spring Festival holidays-9 days.

2. Teachers can discuss with us to arrange other holidays in the contract.

Visa:

1. F or Z visas are required to work in China

2. How to get F or Z visas:

Way 1 : A. Get our official invitation; B. Go to Chinese Embassy iin the nearest city to you to apply for the visa.

Way 2(easiest and highly recommended): A. Get a tourist visa to Yangshuo, China;, we can help to upgrade your visa directly in 1-2 weeks.

Way 3: Prepare your passport copy, four passport photos, application letter, recommendation letter, health check report paper, which you must get the form from the local China embassy;

Then mail them to us

As soon as we get it, we will go to the immigration office to apply for a work visa for you. It takes us at least 20 days to post the invitation paper to you. You will get a work visa from the Chinese embassy directly. (Usually this way is troublesome, we highly recommend way 1).
